but not an exhaustive list by any means
All the HTML I write validates as xHTML 1.0 Strict. I separate the CSS from the HTML as much as possible to simplify future changes.
My server-side code follows the MVC pattern so that the application is split into logical layers and will greatly simplify modifying or adding functionality at a later date.
Integrating with 3rd party scripts and social networks is often required and as a result, my experience includes working with; Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, Bebo, Netlog, WHMCS, Wordpress, IP.Board and more.
This is a place where I can showcase some of my work to potential clients, employers, collaborators and anyone who is curious enough to visit.
I will soon be adding a section to this website for me to share resources I have found inspiring, useful or just plain interesting. I hope you will find them just as interesting and useful.
I've been making websites to some degree for the best part of 6 years. I started with a crude, small fansite for a popular video game which slowly grew an active following and community. After I'd lost interest in the video game and other commitments caught up, I closed the website. I had no desire to build or maintain my own website for a while - but I kept my tools sharp by helping friends with theirs and doing some freelance work for local companies.
I decided to take an optional year-in-industry as part of my course at University. I spent 12 months working for an independent games development company called Mediatonic. Here I was web developer and worked on numerous projects ranging from small websites to building large scale APIs for popular social network games. During my time here I learnt a lot about the social web and how to develop popular applications on it.
Now I'm studying for my final year at University and I do a lot of freelance work during the holidays and my free time.
Maybe I'll do some work for you and your company? Contact me any time and see how I can help.
Aside from web development, I'm also a keen musician. I've played various instruments in my life, but the one I'm best at and still regularly play is the guitar. I was briefly in a high school band but now I'm happy just doing my own thing.
I was born and raised in Luton, UK. Despite me believing the place isn't as bad as they say, I went all the way to the University of Portsmouth to study Computer Science. During my university placement year I was lucky enough to get a job with Mediatonic - a video game company in London. I learnt a lot there and had a great time making and playing games.
